Lena Kocisova (akkamiau / hiT͟Hərˈto͞o) – Sound Artist and Composer [DETUND]
Audiovisual artist, art director, concept writer, experimental musician, performer and art event manager resident in Berlin.
Akkamiau plays live on semi-modulars and synths, ranging from experimental jams to techno sets and has released her production on labels such as DETUND, female:pressure, Kashev Tapes, SPRINGSTOFF and Establishment records. In 2019 produced and art directed performance Interjections (Liminal Act). In 2022 wrote a concept and obtained funding for a grounding ritual VOLTAGE 2.0, produced in international collaboration between Czech and Germany.
Akkamiau regularly DJs on the local scene with focus on the emotional power of sound frequencies, presenting a delicate mixture, from ambient through experimental to techno and rave.
Latest highlights mention an improvisation jam with Lady Starlight at Signals festival, featuring various remixes of Xiao composition (soundtrack for Voltage 2.0) on Ambient sleepers, Acoustic neuroma or DubLab, reboot.fm and Refuge Worldwide radios. Recently she is hosting Impromptu Impulses show on Berlin 88.4 FM radio, focused on jam sessions and improvisation.
Akkamiau was a member of Anymade Std.(2006-2010), in Berlin she co-founded art collective StratoFyzika for whom she created sound compositions inspired by metaphysics (2012-19). In the past decade she has been an active coordinator, promoter and booker of female:pressure network, holding regular female:pressure Berlin parties and events (2013-2023).
